Strut Wing Turnbuckle
This device takes all the stress out of the control bar when the Strut
Wing is folded for transport.
The control bar is designed to be a load bearing member when the
wing is in it's normal flight position. It is usually under tension loads
in flight but is capable of compression loads when at rest or in negative
G situations. It is a chromoly steel 1.125" tube and is much stronger than a regular king post & wire wing control bar. That's because all the forces are in a straight line to the struts.
When folding the wing for storage or transport the weight of the wing or force on the struts is now at a 90 degree angle the control bar.
It is not designed to take this type of bending force and will eventually
damage the control bar. This is a major stressed member and must
not be deformed or bent for flight safety reasons.
The Strut Wing Turnbuckle takes the folded strut loads off the control bar and instead puts it onto the forward float spreader tube.
This tube is part of the float support and is one to the strongest structures in the float system.
With the use of the Wing Support Rack and the Strut Wing Turnbuckles your Sea Wing can travel thousands of road miles with
no stress or strain on the wing system. PRICE $30.00
Wing is now folded and the load is transferred to the front speader tube.
